Silver or Bronze: Which to Choose?
Unsure about the material for your DM Jewel?
Let me explain everything you need to know to choose the right one for you!

925 Silver: A Precious Metal with a Unique Con
Silver is a precious metal , requiring little care in its natural state.
It's more expensive, but it requires virtually no special care ! It needs to be cleaned occasionally with the included cloth, and it might rust in particularly humid conditions. Other than that, it has no other drawbacks.
Its only drawback is if you want to gold-plate it (for those who prefer gold-plated jewelry).
The cost increases significantly and you have to accept that , depending on usage and other factors over which you have little control, the plating will wear off and it will therefore have to be re-plated periodically if you want to keep it gold plated.
NB: silver is nickel-free and hypoallergenic .
Bronze: the most popular and appreciated alternative to gold
Bronze is a very durable and resistant material, composed of part copper and part tin.
It also contains no nickel , and although it is not a precious material, it is often chosen, along with brass or bronze, as an alternative to gold as the color is similar and will never fade .
It has 2 cons though:
- It can oxidize quickly: over time, it tends to turn a darker yellow, sometimes verging on reddish. This process is completely natural , caused by the reaction of copper with the skin's pH and the air, and just wiping it with the cloth I provide is enough to make it go back to its original state !
- Precisely because of this tendency to oxidize, depending on the skin's pH , it can leave a slight green halo . This is not a sign of an allergy to the material , or of a poor-quality material (ah, the false myths!), it is a natural, subjective process , based on the skin's pH and climatic conditions.
The halo goes away simply by washing your hands with soap , as for the jewel, just clean it with the microfiber cloth and it will be perfectly shiny again!
As a material, it certainly requires more care and attention , but it is one of the best alternatives to gold , the price of which is rising day by day.
Having tested brass , imitation gold , bronze and even bron , I can confidently say that bronze is my favorite metal as a substitute for gold and I now mainly use it as a lover of gold jewelry!
